Lorient, Crystal Palace among scramble for Chelsea midfielder Trevoh Chalobah

Lorient are eyeing a new deal for Chelsea midfielder Trevoh Chalobah.

L'Equipe via Foot Mercato says Chalobah is attracting major interest from abroad, particularly France, where Lorient are keen after last season's success.

However, Lorient aren't alone in France in their pursuit of Chalobah. Montpellier and Lens are also interested in the 22 year-old Blues midfielder.

Chalobah is contracted to Chelsea until 2023 and spent last season with Lorient, where he made 30 appearances, scoring twice and also producing two assists. Such was his impact that Lorient are eager to bring him back.

Chalobah is available from Stamford Bridge this summer, with clubs at home also keen.

New Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira is another interested in Chalobah. The former Nice coach kept tabs on the 22 year-old as he impressed in Ligue Une.

Chalobah came through the academy system at Chelsea and Lorient was his third loan spell away, having also spent time with Huddersfield Town and Ipswich Town.
