Liverpool announce glamour preseason programme

Liverpool have their sights set on further success next season, and they have quickly understood the importance of a solid pre-season.

While they will be without star players Alisson Becker, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane due to international commitments, the Daily Mailhas announced a blockbuster friendly against Lyon in Geneva.

Liverpool will begin with an annual trip across the Mersey to play their neighbours Tranmere Rovers, who are newly-promoted to League One, on July 11th

After that, Liverpool will head to Bradford for a game on July 14th before they embark on a tour of the United States that will see them play Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Sporting Lisbon in Indiana, Boston and New York.

The fixture against Sevilla has assumed special importance for owners Fenway Sports Group as it will be the first time Jurgen Klopp has taken a team to Boston as Liverpool manager. The match at Fenway Park can be expected to sell out following the victory against Tottenham in Madrid last Saturday.

When Liverpool return from the United States, they are expected to play a fixture at Murrayfield in Edinburgh on the weekend of July 27th – they are still in discussions with potential opponents – and from there they will head to a training camp in France, as they did 12 months ago.

Their season will officially start with the curtain raiser against Manchester City in the Community Shield on August 3rd.
