Argentine coach Marcelo Gallardo has rejected an approach from Leeds United.

Gallardo is a free agent after leaving River Plate at the end of last season. He is now preparing to move to Europe.

But it won't be to Leeds, with The Times reporting he has rejected an enquiry from Leeds.

The 47-year-old's motivation was that he was not ready to join a team during the season as he would not have time to bed down his methods.

Leeds are seeking a new manager after this week's dismissal of Jesse Marsch.
