LA Galaxy boss Arena confident Ishizaki will only get better

Stefan Ishizaki produced his best performance in a LA Galaxy shirt in the weekend's 3-0 SuperClasico win over Chivas USA.

The Swedish midfielder put in a solid 57-minute shift at the StubHub Center, which yielded his first MLS goal, as the Galaxy secured their first league win of the 2014 season.

Ishizaki's deftly chipped goal in the 42nd minute prompted words of praise from head coach Bruce Arena who still believes the former Elfsborg ace can continue to adjust to the North American competition.

"In time, he's going to give us good passing," Arena said after the game.

"He's capable of scoring goals out of that position, which he demonstrated today. But he needs a little time.

"He's still making the adjustment to the league, and [this] is a difficult game for a player like that.

"He's played in Europe his whole life, a lot in Scandinavia, and all of a sudden he's on a field, it's about 80 degrees, it's sticky and all that, so that was a challenge [for him]."
