Italiano hails Firoentina attitude for victory over Bologna

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano hailed his players' spirit for their win against Bologna.

The Viola came from behind to win 2-1 via Giacomo Bonaventura and a Nico Gonzalez penalty.

Italiano said, “We added the right attitude today, that desire to win and competitive fire that we had at times been lacking this season.

“This is the spirit that leads to victories and we couldn't afford to slip up again after three very painful defeats. Bologna were coming off a completely different period of form and that was visible in the performances, but we can rebuild after these three points."

“I wanted them to just go harder, above all when pressing, against an opponent in good shape. Our desire to win is what made the difference."

Italiano also explained hooking Argentina international Martinez Quarta at halftime.

“He absolutely does not want to be used as a full-back, it's not an area that he likes. He was not able to close on Alexis Saelemaekers, so I changed him."
