It's Simple for Portland Timbers

Portland Timbers have agreed a major sponsorship deal with Simple, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The financial services company's logo will appear on the front of the Timbers' training apparel in a wide-ranging partnership which also includes title sponsorship of the Timbers' pre-season tournament.

The training kit sponsorship element is the first of its kind in MLS.

Simple will also work with the Timbers on a number of community projects, including Stand Together, a financial literacy programme for young people.

The financial terms of the agreement were not released.

"We are thrilled with our innovative new partnership with Simple," said Mike Golub, the president of business operations for the Portland Timbers.

"Simple is a dynamic and rapidly growing company that shares the Timbers' commitment to our community, our sport, our supporters and delivering a best-in-class experience."

Jen Wagner, the sponsorship marketing manager for Simple, added: "The Timbers have built one of the best experiences in sports by actively engaging their passionate fanbase.

"In the same way, Simple puts its customers at the heart of everything we do. This was a natural fit and we're excited to introduce a partnership that's the first of its kind."
