Isco was delighted with a winning debut for Real Betis at Villarreal on Sunday.

The midfielder, having been out of football since before Christmas, was outstanding for Betis on the day.

Isco said, "I'm very happy to be playing after a long time. Very happy for the debut and the victory. You can't start better.

"I've been through bad times and I've gotten ahead, both mentally and physically. I would like to thank my family, children and wife for their support during these months, which have not been easy.

"What I like is playing football and it hasn't been easy not being able to do it. I'm happy to come to this club, because of the reception from my teammates, the confidence and I hope to continue like this and bring lots of joy to our fans.

"I hadn't played for a long time, but I've prepared myself very well physically. I've felt better than I expected. Now let's keep picking up the pace, the season is very long."
