Internacional set to send Wesley back to Aston Villa as agent hits out

Aston Villa striker Wesley is facing a return to England as Internacional consider cutting short his loan.

Wesley has only started three of Internacional's first nine games of the Brasileiro Serie A season and has made a total of 14 appearances since the start of his January loan switch.

His agent Paulo Nehmy said on Rádio Bandeirante: "There is a contract between the two clubs, Inter and Aston Villa. Any termination has to come from the clubs. If it is in Inter's interest we are ready for that. But Wesley doesn't want to leave.

"What Wesley was sad about, surprised, was the brutal reaction of the press, Wesley is not used to it, he left for Europe early. If you have to say something, tell the truth, don't speculate.

"What makes Wesley play is not salary, what makes Wesley play is will. Wesley arrived at Inter in January. He comes from a serious injury. And he is 100% recovered. Inter underwent a change of coach. Wesley was not good. Change of coach, change of thinking."

He added: "I don't know how long Mano (Menezes, coach) has been there, but Wesley hasn't played with Mano. He played half time against Fluminense, it was very bad and he didn't play anymore. Nobody learns to ride a bike. He was a Premier League starter, he belongs to a big club in England, he played for the national team, suddenly he's the fourth reserve?"

Reports had been circulating in Brazil that Championship club Middlesbrough were interested in taking the Villa forward on loan, but Nehmy moved to rebuff those claims too. He said: "There is not the slightest chance. We do not deal with this club. This information is a lie."
