Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez says victory over Juventus was deserved.

An own goal forced by Nicolo Barella separated the two teams.

"Today was a big opportunity for our journey," Lautaro told Sky Italia.

“We had a great performance, were aggressive in winning back the ball and caused Juve a lot of problems, even though they sat very deep trying to go on the counter.

“We studied many of their videos and knew what to expect."

He added, “Having that armband on is certainly extra responsibility, but I have always given my best for Inter and tried to pass on those values to my teammates. I learned so much from my father when I was young and now I am a father too.

“We created a great atmosphere in the locker room, I am happy to be here, to grow and play with them, to target those objectives."
