Brazilian international Robinho appears set to sign with cashed up Chinese Champions Guangzhou Evergrande, according to reports.
Middle East publication The National suggests Abu Dhabi-based club Baniyas were also believed to be interested in the 31-year-old, but it is understood that Robinho has opted to link up with former Brazil national team coach Luiz Felipe Scolari in the Chinese Super League.
The former Manchester City, Real Madrid and AC Milan forward confirmed he was leaving his Brazilian club Santos in a statement released on Wednesday.
"Unfortunately it will not be possible to renew my contract. But Santos FC will always be in my heart," Robinho said.
"Santos FC will go great, because it is above any player. I will try to remain happy doing what I like best, which is play football and hopefully one day return."
Robinho will follow fellow Brazilian Paulinho to Guangzho following his £9.9million transfer from Tottenham.
