Genoa striker Mateo Retegui hopes to make Italy's Euros squad.
The forward struck a spectacular goal in victory over Udinese yesterday.
He later said: "I really want to go to the national team, but I know that first I have to do well at the club, I have to be a good teammate, a good player and then it comes.
"If he calls me I'm happy, for me it's a dream, otherwise I'll support the team from home.
"I'm grateful to everyone, both Roberto (Mancini) and Luciano (Spalletti) obviously. Here football is more intense, it's difficult, I'm calmer after the injury. I go, I go and I go because my family comes here anyway. I rest, I like being in home... I think it's difficult, but I want this so much."
