Arsenal have made an attempt for Watford's Bosman signing Pape Gueye.
The departing Le Havre midfielder is eager to break the deal and counting on a club to cough up a fee to Watford in order to be released from his pre-contract.
A source close to Gueye revealed to Le Phoceen: "OM is one of the clubs most interested in Pape, that's clear. There are also Metz, Strasbourg, Angers, Nantes, German, Portuguese and Spanish clubs.
"Arsenal also contacted us with a salary three times higher. But Pape wants to play in Ligue 1 for two or three years before going abroad, and OM is clearly on his short list. It would be a great club for him."
