Diego Forlan hopes to see fellow Uruguayan Darwin Nunez move to former club Manchester United.
The Benfica striker has been linked with United.
Forlan told Breaking the Lines: "I think Darwin is a very good player, a good kid. He is playing very well at Benfica, having a great season. And in the Champions League, where he scored six goals, he was also very good. He is a young man with a lot of potential and that could fit in the Manchester United squad.
"Everyone has to be patient. He is becoming more and more experienced. It wouldn't be a bad signing for Manchester United, it would be nice to see him there. It's a club that gives players time, which makes them comfortable. Which makes them feel like they are in a familiar place.
"It would be amazing to have him playing for Manchester United."
