Australian midfielder Brett Holman admits his time in England did not really work out for him.
The 29-year old left Dutch club AZ Alkmaar to join Aston Villa in July 2012 but lasted just 12 months in the Premier League before moving to Dubai to join UAE outfit Al Nasr recently.
Holman said his timer spent in Holland - also with Feyenoord, Excelsior and NEC Nijmegen - was well worth it but suggests his tenure in the UK was not quite as successful.
"Obviously the standard here is not as high as that in Europe, which is the best in the world," he said.
"But the clubs are well organised and the comparison with Europe would be roughly the same.
"Holland was a great experience and England did not quite work out the way I wanted it to.
"So coming here was good for me because the way we train I feel really fit.
"I am happy and very comfortable with the decision I've made."
