Former Sunderland centre-back John Mensah could move to Sporting Kansas City this summer, according to reports.
AllSportsNews has reported the 32-year-old Ghanaian is the subject of interest from Sporting, and will undergo a trial with the club imminently.
Mensah boasts a wealth of experience, having captained Ghana to a quarter-final appearance at the 2010 World Cup.
The defender, who has played in France with Rennes and Lyon, has been without a club since leaving Slovakian side FC Nitra last year, but is believed to be keen to reclaim his spot in the Ghanaian national side.
Kansas are currently sixth in the MLS' Eastern Conference.
