Ex-Melbourne Victory, Heart midfielder Fred open to MLS return

Brazilian midfielder Fred admits he would love to play Major League Soccer again.

The 34-year old is a free agent after coming out of contract with A-League club Melbourne Heart and revealed that a return to MLS, where he played with DC United and Philadelphia Union, would be favourable.

"I'm looking anywhere, but I will be happy if I can play here (USA) for another team in MLS," the former Melbourne Victory and Wellington Phoenix man who has had two spells with DC.

"When you get older it's difficult but I think I can still play at a high level.

"Philadelphia and DC United were the clubs I played for (and) they will be good too (to play for again)."

He added: "I (tried) to reach them (MLS). I made many friends when I played there, maybe they can help me out now."
