Australian national team captain Lucas Neill is being linked with a move to the J.League.
The 35-year old defender is a reported target for Omiya Ardija according to Nikkan Sports and could be on his way to Saitama very soon.
Omiya recently got rid of head coach Zdenko Verdenik but could bring in former Millwall, Blackburn Rovers, West Ham United and Galatasaray centre-half Neill according to a club official.
"Neill is free so we don't have to worry about the J. League transfer deadline on the 16th (of August)," the club official said.
"But we'd like to get the deal done as soon as possible."
Neill most recently played with A-League club Sydney FC following short stints with Middle Eastern outfits Al Jazira and Al Wasl.
