Ex-Anderlecht ace Kljestan ready for NYRB challenge

Sacha Kljestan insists he is completely prepared to help New York Red Bulls achieve success in 2015 and beyond.

The 29-year old midfielder joined the Red Bulls last month after spending five years in Belgium with Anderlecht and is looking to make a positive impact at his new club.

Kljestan, who returns to MLS following an initial stint with Chivas USA between 2006 and 2010, won three Pro League titles and four Belgian Super Cups during his time with Anderlecht and is now eyeing a fruitful spell at the Red Bull Arena.

"The most important thing for me was the challenge on the field and the challenge to lead this team, the challenge to try to win, to try to lead this organization to wins, to have a winning mentality," Kljestan said.

"I think everybody that works for the club is as motivated as I am to win, so it seemed like it fit hand in hand in the end.

"But the challenge arose to try to come to New York with the Red Bull organization and try to be a leader, a team that has never won an MLS Cup; it's a huge challenge.

"We want to make something that the fans are proud of, and the sporting challenge was the biggest draw."
