RKC Waalwijk have announced the signing of Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira.

The Portuguese has joined RKC on a free transfer, signing a one-year contract with the option for another 12 months.

Pereira had been with United for nine years, making three senior appearances for the English giants.

"With the arrival of Joel, we are bringing in a goalkeeper with a lot of potential, who also has the necessary experience," says general director Frank van Mosselveld on the RKC website.

“He was educated at Manchester United and during that period he made a lot of flying hours. Here in Waalwijk, he gets the opportunity to further develop himself and we will go for the maximum possible together with him."
