Charlton Athletic have signed Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams on a six-month deal.

The Palace youth product leaves the club having made just 12 appearances since the 2012-13 season. He has spent time at Ipswich, Nottingham Forest, MK Dons, Ipswich and Sunderland, and now hopes to push the Addicks into the Championship.

"I came to the [Walsall] game the other day and I thought the boys did really well," said Williams

"They are a good, talented bunch of players. I'm hopeful to add to that and I'm excited to work with them and hopefully get the club back into the Championship, which is the main aim."
