Burnley have allowed defender Alex Whitmore to join League One side Bury until January.

The Shakers are the fourth club the 21-year old has joined on the loan and the second in the EFL.

Whitmore made 35 appearances for League Two side Morecambe last season.

Bury manager Lee Clark said: "He is a real no-nonsense defender, who has good experience of first-team football and he will certainly bring that competition for places that I am striving for."
