Barcelona have signed midfielder Matheus Fernandes from Palmeiras.

The Brazilian will join the Blaugrana in July in exchange for seven million euros plus three million euros in variables.

Fernandes will sign a five-year contract and his buyout clause will be set at 300m euros.

Hours later it was announced that Matheus will join Valladolid on loan until the end of the season.

Fernandes stands out for his defensive skills, his ability to build play from the back and his interceptions.
