Aston Villa have announced that young defender Kaine Kesler Hayden is moving to Swindon.

The club's FA Youth Cup captain from last season is signing for the League Two outfit, pending EFL approval.

The 18-year-old signed a five-year deal with Villa and can be recalled by manager Dean Smith in January.

The Midlands club rate him very highly, while Swindon are delighted to secure him for six months.

Robins director of football Ben Chorley said: "We're very pleased to have Kaine in our squad this year and look forward to working with him through the season.

"We're extremely grateful to Adam Henshall and Mile Jedinak for their help in making this signing possible. They have been in constant contact with myself and Head Coach Ben Garner, whose relationship with Mile played a big factor in Kaine joining.

"Kaine coming into the building goes with the structure and model we are trying to develop here at Swindon Town Football Club. I'd like to wish Kaine every success in a Swindon shirt."
