Crystal Palace co-owner Textor interviewed by Rio de Janeiro state police

Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor was interviewed by the Rio de Janeiro state police this Friday - on his request.

In recent weeks, the Olympique Lyon owner had raised suspicions of corruption in several matches in the Brazilian first division. For this reason, the American had expressed his wish to cancel the season, while his club Botafogo, which had long been the leader, had finally ended the season in fifth place.

Convinced of his words, Textor undertook to provide evidence in the coming days, arguing that he had at his disposal voice notes from referees complaining about not having received the promised kickbacks.

Recently, the boss of Eagle Football had also publicly called for the resignation of the president of the Brazilian Federation, which earned him a 30-day suspension. According to Globo, Textor was able to speak with the Brazilian police for more than three hours, and express his remonstrances.
