Gretna sends Baldacchino, McMenamin away on-loan

Gretna are sending Colin McMenamin and Ryan Baldacchino away on-loan.

McMenamin scored 27 goals for the Black and Whites in the First Division last season but has moved to former club Livingston on a five-week loan deal after falling out of Irons' first-team plans.

"I'm disappointed with the way the season has gone so far," the striker said. "I've not settled into the system Gretna are playing just now, I was playing as more of a support player and I've not been enjoying it.

"But if I can go to Livingston and score goals then hopefully I'll give the gaffer at Gretna something to think about. Maybe I can even convince him to change the system because I think I deserve a chance to play up front for Gretna."

Baldacchino, a pacey midfielder, also goes out on loan for a month, moving to Second Division Ayr United after impressing the Somerset Park club in a bounce game earlier this week.
