Burnley are eyeing Manchester United wing-back Alvaro Fernandez.
The Spaniard spent last season on-loan at Preston where he came to the attention of Burnley manager Vincent Kompany.
Fernandez, who can play at fullback and on the wing, made 42 appearances last season.
Kompany would seek a permanent deal for the former Real Madrid junior.
Sky Sports' Lyall Thomas reports Kompany views Fernandez as primarily a left-back.
