Brighton have made a move for Roberto de Zerbi.
In the market for a new manager after losing Graham Potter to Chelsea, Brighton have approached De Zerbi about the job, says Sportitalia.
De Zerbi is a free agent after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk at the end of last season.
The Italian also turned down Bologna last week after insisting he would only take the job if Sinisa Mihajlovic resigned from the post, rather than being sacked.
De Zerbi made his name with his success at Sassuolo. Talks with Brighton are now underway.
