Bournemouth boss Iraola 'really happy' with victory over Southampton

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola was pleased with his team's 3-2 win over Southampton yesterday.

The Premier League side took on the relegated Saints, who will be playing in the Championship this coming season.

While Iraola admitted some of the Cherries' frailties were exposed, they played good football for much of the contest.

Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I think it was a good game, even with the mistakes we had.

“Because we had also some mistakes, especially the two goals we conceded coming from set pieces.

“But overall I'm really happy because the players worked really hard.

“We were very good, especially first half.

“We recovered the ball very high up the pitch.

“We had a lot of chances - we could even score more goals and also the rhythm was pretty high.

“I think they were also in some periods building up very well from the back.

“We had to come back, to have good recoveries defensively and I think it was a useful match for both teams."
