Bayern Munich chief Rummenigge leaves door open to re-signing Zirkzee

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has left the door open to re-signing Josh Zirkzee.

Zirkzee's deal with Bologna includes a buy-back option for Bayern.

Rummenigge told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "I remember my last year as CEO, he played well and when Flick put him on the pitch he always scored heavy goals, not the fourth or fifth of the match. He made us win important matches: I'm happy for him that he's doing well, he deserves it, I've always seen him play well for us.

"His bad luck was having someone like Lewandowski in front of him."

He also said: "We have just signed a new Sportvorstand (more than a sporting director) Max Eberl. I don't want to meddle in his work, he must demonstrate that he has the great qualities that I believe he has I don't want to influence him.

"I don't know if the clause is activated or not, it's part of the transfer that will take place in the summer."
