Barcelona, Real Madrid great Figo among candidates for FIFA presidency

FIFA have announced the four candidates who will run for presidency in May.

A trio of aspirants have been confirmed by football's world governing body to go up against current president Sepp Blatter at FIFA Congress in Switzerland on May 29.

Portugal's Luis Figo, Jordan's Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein and Holland's Michael van Praag are the men who will be taken into consideration for the president's role after undergoing integrity checks.

Former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan star Figo, FIFA's vice-president for Asia Prince Al-Hussein and Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) chief van Praag all announced their intentions to run for presidency in January.

An election will take place at FIFA in Zurich in more than three months' time with current chief Blatter going after a fifth term in the role.
