AZ Alkmaar are set to snap up Southampton midfielder Jordy Clasie.
De Telegraaf says the Dutchman has agreed a four-year contract with AZ.
It's now down to AZ football chief Max Huiberts to reach terms over a fee with Southampton for Clasie. They see him as a replacement for Adam Maher, who has just left for FC Utrecht.
AZ coach Arne Slot revealed: "We could have solved it internally, but we also thought that Jordy as a football player has many similarities with the 'Maher type'. A good football player, strong and physically fit."
The trainer has already spoken to Clasie by telephone.
“It was mostly about football. About the way we play, the way I look at him. I indicated to him what his role could be, how he could function within our group. Jordy was enthusiastic."
