Ayoze Perez has explained his decision to join Newcastle United.

The former Tenerife striker was also a target for Real Madrid and Barcelona.

"Real Madrid were after me and there was also interest from other major sides such as Barcelona and FC Porto.

"The problem is that I want to play first team football and opting for the likes of Madrid would have seen me end up playing for their 'B' team," he told The Sun.
