AWESOME! Liverpool Football College helps young trio land pro contracts

Liverpool Football College have helped three youngsters land pro deals.

Teenagers Nathan Corness, Oliver Southern and Tyrice Beaumont have all won scholarships in the Football League.

They caught the eye of scouts with their performances for the Allerton-based college which offers courses combining football with getting an education and is endorsed by Kop legend Steven Gerrard .

Corness has been taken on by Tranmere Rovers, Southern, who was with Manchester United, has gone to Crewe Alexandra and Beaumont is now on the books at Blackpool.

College director Dave MacDiarmid told the Liverpool Echo: “We're disappointed to lose them but more than anything we're delighted for the boys.

“Our primary objective is to help create that pathways for the youngsters. We didn't tell them but scouts had been contacting us regularly about them and monitoring their progress.

“It's testament to the mentality the three of them have shown during their time with us. They knew what they wanted, they were fixated on it and prepared to make sacrifices to achieve it in terms of living and training right."
