Hertha Berlin's signing of Sami Khedira will not impact the immediate future of Matteo Guendouzi.

The young French midfielder is on loan at Hertha from Arsenal until the end of the season.

Khedira's arrival from Juventus lead to speculation Guendouzi could return early from his loan spell.

But respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has denied those claims.

The Italian said on his Twitter: "Sami Khedira from Juventus to Hertha Berlin on a permanent deal, confirmed.

"Personal terms agreed until June 2023. Hertha won't let Matteo Guendouzi leave the club in January, as agreed with Arsenal – he's staying until the end of the season. #hertha #afc"
