Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is finding life tough in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Henderson signed for Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia in the summer, leaving the Reds for a big money offer.
However, he was unable to settle in the Middle East, moving to Ajax in the winter as a free agent.
Ahead of Ajax's trip to AZ Alkmaar at the weekend, Henderson was dropped by John van't Schip.
Henderson was also absent in midweek as his team beat Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League.
Without Henderson in the lineup, Ajax lost the game away from home to AZ Alkmaar 2-0.
