Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers says he was close to bringing Declan Rice to Parkhead during his first spell in charge.
Rice left West Ham for Arsenal in a £110m deal last summer.
But it could've been very different, as Rodgers says: "I remember when I was here the first time, we spent about three months trying to sign Declan Rice.
"Declan was ready for the change, but suddenly they (West Ham,) got an injury, and so he stayed. He made the team and then the rest is history.
"It wasn't the club's fault. It's just the way it goes."
