Monterrey may need to act fast if they're to keep hold of Chile defender Sebastián Vegas.
The 23 year-old is on-loan at Monterrey from Mazatian FC with the deal including a permanent option which can be triggered in June 2021.
However, Mazatian FC could be willing to cash in during the January market as interest arrives from Europe. Cagliari expressed interest in Vegas last season.
Monterrey's option is worth around €4m, while the defender's contract with Mazatian carries a buyout clause of €12m.
It's been suggested Monterrey could simply trigger Vegas' clause in order to keep hold of him, confident of eventually selling him onto Europe for a healthy profit.
