Lyngby sporting director Nicas Kjeldsen admits talks are underway with Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The Icelandic midfielder is ready to return to football after criminal charges were dropped in England.
The 33 year-old former Everton and Swansea City midfielder is now in talks with Lyngby about a playing return.
"We have been in dialogue with Gylfi for almost 14 days and in that process we have found a common interest in Gylfi becoming a Lyngby player," Kjeldsen told the club's official website.
"We have a verbal agreement and plan at the moment, but there are many things that still have to fall into place. Among other things, that we must have an overview of his injury and physical condition after a long period without matches and organised training."
